Caranavi to Rurrenabaque was more of the same dusty, dirt/paved roads from the previous day before it opened up to the flat Amazon. There was a ton of construction with bits of yet to be flattened dirt and rock sections. These sections were very rough on the bikes and actually tricky to keep your balance. My riding buddy had a few tip overs in these sections and the last one took on a rock that was too much for the pressures he was running and he got a pinch flat. We fixed the flat before pushing on across the flat jungle section. The flat road was also interesting as there were a lot of construction and sandy bits. We got to Rurrenabaque and the first place we found had a good price, spot for the bikes and storage for our gear when we’d be gone on a tour in the jungle. So far Bolovia’s riding has been hit or miss. Their main routes are dirt roads but that means you are sharing the road with all the trucks and busses and cars. These are the kind of dirt roads you wish were paved even when you are riding a dirt bike.
